Spanish artist Jairo Zavala, DePedro, decides to travel to Senegal in the footsteps of Lamine Konté, a musician who marked his childhood through the music his mother listened to in the family kitchen. DePedro packs his bags and sets off on a journey that will lead him to discover African rhythms and music, travelling to the south of the country, Casamance, in search of a griot: a storyteller who plays the kora, a string instrument halfway between the harp and the lute.
A taxi driver, Bamba, gives him clues to find the country's music scene, leading him to Dieuf-Dieul de Thiès, one of the most important groups in Senegal. The journey also helps him build a round-trip theory about music, carrying the sound of Africa to America across the sea and returning to Africa with the Latin influence incorporated. Ángel Carmona, music journalist at Radio 3 and host of Hoy Empieza Todo, accompanies DePedro on the final stage of the journey, around the Gambia River.
